Chris
Sexually abused by two teachers at the age of 7, Chris’s life gradually spiraled down into an addiction to alcohol and heroin. As a young man his career as a sound engineer in London studios was on the rise, but an exploration of drugs and ultimately heroin changed all that. Through The 12 Steps and a life changing spiritual experience his life has been completely transformed.
Eddie
Brought up by his Gran in Glasgow and by the age of 12 no longer going to school, Eddie left Scotland at 18 to go to London. Jailed numerous times, and living on the streets as an alcoholic and heroin addict he very nearly lost his life. Thanks to his faith and an encounter with The Recovery Course he has reclaimed it.
Justyn
A promising life as an army officer and a successful career in the City with all the financial rewards that brings was destroyed in a moment of boredom thanks to a £5 free bet advertised on the TV. He lost everything – his family, his job and his home. An extraordinary story of how the 12 Steps and his faith in God has begun to restore much of his life.
Mike
Born into a family of crime Mike’s future was mapped out as a career criminal. As one of the country’s biggest drug smugglers, he was arrested for the largest importation of Cannabis into the UK and sentenced to 12 years. It was while he was in prison that an event changed the course of his life.
Mandy
Her grandmother was a prostitute, her mother was a prostitute and she herself was sold into prostitution as a child. Journeying through a life of crime and a heroin and crack addiction Mandy’s story clearly shows that nobody is beyond redemption and finding a way out.
Jen
When she was 5-years-old Jen’s parents split and between the age of 8 and 12 her new step father began sexually abusing her. Her sense of abandonment led her to a life of alcohol and eating disorders. A profound spiritual experience and the 12 Step programme was the gateway to freedom.
Christina
Being sexually abused at 7 years of age, which led to an intense self-loathing, Christina embarked on a chaotic life that culminated in an addiction to a range of drugs including Crack Cocaine. Reluctantly she attended The Recovery Course that in turn helped her to find freedom.
Catherine
Despite her privileged background every single person in her family was an addict. At the age of 26 her mother, father and brother were dead. This is the story of her recovery from alcohol thanks to the 12 Steps and The Recovery Course.
Charlie
Brought up in a house with domestic violence, Charlie started taking drugs in her early teens. She eventually began dealing and ran a brothel before her crack addiction led her to become a prostitute herself. A chance visit to a London Church changed her life.
